Introduction:

Guanyin, also known as Avalokitesvara, is a bodhisattva in Buddhist mythology who is revered for their compassion and kindness. They are believed to be a protector of all beings and are often depicted in art and literature as a savior or mediator. According to legend, Guanyin was once a prince who vowed to remain on earth until all beings had achieved enlightenment. As a result of this vow, they attained the ability to hear the cries of all suffering beings and came to be seen as a figure of mercy and compassion. Guanyin is revered in many parts of Asia, particularly in China, Japan, and Korea, and is often depicted holding a willow branch, which symbolizes their willingness to help alleviate suffering.
